Frequently Asked Questions

What devices does ToddlerCall work on?

ToddlerCall requires iOS 16.6 or later and works on both iPhone and iPad. All devices in a household must be running iOS 16.6 or later.

How does the subscription work?

One parent device pays a yearly subscription to create and manage the household. Child devices and family member (receiver-only) devices are always free — there's no limit on how many family members can receive calls.

What happens if nobody answers?

If a contact doesn't answer within 30 seconds, ToddlerCall automatically advances to the next contact on the list. If all contacts are exhausted, the app can optionally display a 911 button (this can be turned on in Settings).

Does video and audio get recorded or stored?

No. Video and audio travel directly between devices using a peer-to-peer connection. They are never routed through, recorded, or stored on our servers.

Can a family member receive calls without a subscription?

Yes. Family members (grandparents, babysitters, etc.) install ToddlerCall and select "Receiver Only" during setup. This is completely free and always will be.

What is Parent Approval mode?

When enabled, a 10-second approval window gives the parent a chance to review and cancel a call before it goes out to contacts. A notification appears on the parent's lock screen with a one-tap Cancel button.

What is Night Mode?

Night Mode locks the app to the emergency calling screen during configured hours. Face ID or passcode is required to exit. A bedtime reminder notification can be set to prompt placing the device near the child at bedtime.

What is Practice Mode?

Practice Mode lets your child go through the calling flow — including the ring tone and contact progression — without real calls going out to family members. It's a great way to build familiarity before an emergency happens.

How do I add or remove contacts?

On the parent device, go to Settings → Manage Emergency Contacts. From there you can add contacts from your device's contacts list, reorder them by drag, or remove them.

How do I reset a device's role?

Go to Settings → About → Change Device Role. This will clear onboarding and let you re-select a role on the next app launch.

I need to delete my household data. How?
